Frequently asked questions
What file types can I check?
PDF, PNG, JPG/JPEG, and TIFF, up to 100 MB. PDFs get the full preflight (fonts, bleed, color, image resolution); raster images go through AI quality analysis and enhancement.
What does the quality score mean?
A 0–100 score combining true image resolution against your print size, sharpness, and compression damage. 80+ is press-ready; below 50 usually needs AI enhancement or a better source file.
How does AI enhancement work?
A neural network (Real-ESRGAN) reconstructs detail while upscaling up to 4×, removes JPEG artifacts and noise, and sharpens text and edges. The result is re-analyzed so the report reflects the actual output, not a promise.
Why does resolution depend on print size?
A 100 DPI file is unusable for a business card and perfect for a billboard. We judge resolution against the standard viewing distance for your dimensions — the same way a real prepress operator does.
What happens to my files?
Files are processed and then automatically deleted. Only the analysis results, report, and preview are kept, and those expire too. Your artwork isn’t stored long-term or used for anything else.
Do I need an account?
No — checking files is free without one. An account keeps your job history and unlocks higher limits as plans roll out.
Can this replace my prepress operator?
It replaces the repetitive first pass — the 90% of checks that are mechanical. Judgment calls, imposition, and color management still deserve a human. Think of it as giving every file an instant first opinion.
